Verbatim's Store n Go hard drives offer high storage performance thanks to a “Superspeed” USB 3.0 interface. The USB 3.0 standard can provide transfer speeds up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 (considering the speed of the USB bus), offering extremely fast data migration, anywhere.

Store'n'Go portable hard drives are powered via bis USB 3.0 (a USB 3.0 interface), however they are backwards compatible with any USB 2.0 port on your PC or notebook. The units do not require external power, simply connect them to start using them immediately.

HDDs with capacities up to 2TB are formatted in FAT32 allowing them to operate immediately on Windows and Mac OSx. Drives larger than 2TB are formatted in NTFS, a format compatible with Windows systems but which requires Mac users to reformat the drive to HFS+ in order to make them fully compatible with Mac OSx operating systems. HFS+ formatting can be applied using the Verbatim VHD Formatter present in the drive.

For an even greater level of security, it is accompanied by Nero BackItUp Essentials software, for backing up laptop or PC hard drives. BackItUp Essentials offers an application that allows you to back up all your files, folders and drives at any time, or schedule automatic backup at a predefined time for added security.

Nero BackItUp Essentials software is compatible with Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 10 (not compatible with Mac OS).

Verbatim Store 'n' Go portable hard drives also feature energy-saving Green Button software. Green Button software suspends disk rotation when not in use, thus increasing productivity and saving energy.

Three different suspension options. You can set sleep mode after 10 minutes of use, or increase it by 10 minute intervals up to a maximum of 120 minutes. You can also suspend the drive immediately by double-clicking the Green Button icon on the desktop or set the drive to "Never suspend disk"
